Bluefin Tuna show up in the Cape Cod waters early June and feed here all summer long .The sharp drop-off along the Southwest corner of Stellwagen Bank creates upwellings which attract baitfish such as sandeels, mackerel, and herring which attract Bluefin Tuna. A quick 45 minute boat ride puts us on the fishing grounds. Dates are filling up for the 2018 fishing season so book soon . www.FishHighHook.com
The High Hook fishing camp 2018 only has two spots left for this years sessions. For those interested, please sign up soon so you don’t miss out. We will be adding another morning session in June as well. Three days of fishing Duxbury, Plymouth, and Kingston bays for Striped Bass, Flounder, Bluefish. For more information on what the sessions offer, please send an email to [email protected]
Striped Bass show up in Duxbury, Plymouth, and Kingston Bay waters around mid-May. We run 4 hour trips which gives you plenty of fishing time to fill up the cooler. The trip consists of shooting out of the bay to catch live mackerel in the morning and then bring them back inside to target the channels and rips on the moving tides. When the fish show up in Cape Cod waters in the Spring they are hungry and aggressive so you see a lot of the strikes on the surface. No matter your skill level, its fun for all catching the Stripers on light spinning gear. Dates are filling up so book soon to get the day you would like.
The haddock fishing is red hot right now and should stay that way for another month or so. The edges and bank are loaded with Haddock and big cod. We did 50 keeper Haddock in an hour and half on Sunday morning. Great way to get some meat in the freezer. Book now for trips this month. www.FishHighHook.com
Yesterday we landed our first Bluefin Tuna of the season measuring 81in and just over 300lbs. It’s nice to see the fish around Stellwagon again. Fish sightings from Peaked Hill Bar to out East of the Bank. Striped Bass trips in the bay all weekend but will be back at it next week.
Although very windy yesterday, we managed to find a couple schools of fish in Duxbury and Plymouth bay. We landed 25 fish or so with a couple keepers mixed in. Bigger Striped Bass are starting to filter into the bays. A picture from yesterday’s trip.
We had a nice trip this morning landing 15 or so Striped Bass over 34in and a few over 40. The fishing is hot right now with big schools of fish showing up on both tides. Best chance at the big ones is live bait, but you can pick your way through the shorts with trolling gear. Here are are couple pictures from today’s trip.
Had a good day on the water yesterday with the Solvik crew. Haddock were a little spotty at first but we were able to get on some schools and get our limit out of it (75 keepers) in about three and a half hours. Great weather and the kids had a blast.
The Haddock fishing is some of the best it has ever been. Just a forty minute or so ride out of Duxbury Harbor puts us on the grounds. Great for groups as everyone is able to have a rod in their hand. You are allowed 15 keepers per person. Book a trip while it’s hot!!
